The Ice Cavern
When you just walk into the Ice Cavern, walk down the path until you come to some icicles on the floor.
Notice the strange, red block of ice in the middle of them. Continue down the path until you come to some
icicles that are blocking your path. Cut the icicles with your sword to get them out of your way. Walk into
the large room in front of you. Defeat the Freezzards by hitting them with your sword until they are
completely gone. Also, watch out for their icy breath. After you defeat them, a doorway will open in front
of you. Go through the doorway and walk down the path. You will come to a doorway with icicles
blocking it. Hit the icicles out of your way and go through the doorway. You will now be in a large room
with a giant, spinning blade in the center of it. There are five silver rupees scattered throughout the room.
Collect all five of them to make a doorway open that is strait across the room from the one you came from.
Walk down the hallway until you come to a large room. Walk across the room and dodge the sliding, spiky
squares. There is a hallway strait across the room. Walk down the hallway until you come to another
large room. You will see a platform in front of you that leads to a narrow path above the ground. Climb
up onto the pathway. Follow the path until it stops and you see a Freezzard. Defeat the Freezzard and you
will see two platforms in front of you. Get the recovery hearts on the one on the right unless you are
completely full on life. (You will need these because you have to let go of your Faeries.) Jump to the
platform on the left. Now jump to the platform to the left of that one. You will see a strange, blue flame.
Now empty every bottle that you have. (You should have at least three bottles by now, but if you don’t
you’ll just have to make trips back to here.) Catch the blue flame in them as you would a fish or bug. You
will see a very narrow path behind the fire that leads to a large chest covered in the strange, red ice. There
is a Freezzard halfway down the path. Get past him and walk to the chest. Stand in front of the chest and
dump the blue fire out of one of your bottles. This will melt the ice and expose the chest. Open the chest to
receive the dungeon map. Walk back down the path to the blue fire. Refill your empty bottle and walk
back down the hall to the room with the spinning blade that you were in previously. There are two
doorways in the room that are covered with red ice. Go to the one on the left and melt the ice with a blue
fire. Go through the doorway and walk down the hall until you come into a room. On the left side of the
room there is a block of red ice behind some icicles. Cut down the icicles and melt the red ice with a blue
fire. This will reveal a heart piece. On the opposite side of the room there is another block of red ice with
icicles in front of it. Cut down the icicles and melt the red ice with your last blue fire. This will reveal a
large chest. Open the chest to receive the compass. Now walk to the back of the room where there is a
blue flame surrounded by icicles. Cut down the icicles and fill all of your bottles with blue fire. Now walk
back through the door that you came from. You will be back in the room with the spinning blade. Walk
strait across the room and you will see another doorway covered with red ice. Melt the red ice and walk
through the doorway. You will come to a large room with silver rupees scattered around. There is a large
block of ice in front of you. Push the block around the room to collect all of the rupees. (One of them is
covered in red ice in a doorway above the floor.) After you collect all of the rupees, a door will open on the
other side of the room. Before you go through the door, fill your last bottle with blue fire. Now go through
the doorway. Walk down the hallway and defeat the enemies until you come to some red ice that is
blocking your path. Melt ONE of the blocks of red ice with ONE of your blue fires. Walk down to the
disguised door that is in front of you. Enter the door. Defeat the White Wolfos to make a large chest
appear. Open the chest to receive the Iron Boots. Now you will talk to Sheik who will teach you the
Serenade of Water. Now jump into the hole behind the chest that is filled with water. Equip the iron boots
to sink to the bottom of the hole. You will see a door beside you. Enter the door. Now walk up the path
until you come all of the way out of the water. Change back to your Kokiri boots. Go through the
doorway in front of you and jump down to the room below. Go through the doorway on the left of the
room. You will be back in the room with the spinning blade. Go through the doorway that is on top of the
ledge. From there make your way out of the cavern by the way you came from.
