The Water Temple

When you first enter the Water Temple, you will be in a tiny room filled with water. Equip your Kokiri boots to float to the surface. In front of you will be a small surface. Climb up onto it and walk to the edge of it where it meets the water. Jump into the water and equip the iron boots to sink to the bottom of the room. If you walk to the right, you will see a doorway with torches on either side of it. Go through the doorway and walk down the long hallway that is in it. You will come to a small room where you will meet princess Ruto. After she leaves, walk to the middle of the room and equip your Kokiri boots to float to the surface. You will now see a door in front of you. Enter the door. There are about four spikes in this room. Z-target them and hit them with your hookshot to defeat them. After you defeat them, the door in front of you will open and a large chest will appear. Open the chest to receive the dungeon map. Now exit the room by the door that you came from. Notice on the left a square with a Triforce symbol on it. Stand in front of the square and play Zelda’s Lullaby. This will lower the water level. Jump into the hole beside you to return to the room where you met Ruto. There is a lit torch in the middle of the room and two unlit on either side of the door. To light the torches you can either: shoot an arrow through the lit torch towards the unlit ones, or use Din’s fire. This will open the barred door. Enter the door. Defeat the Shell Blades by z-targeting them and shooting them with either your hookshot or bow when they open their mouths. After you defeat them, a small chest will appear in the middle of the room. Open the chest to receive a small key. Now exit the room by the door you came from and then walk down the hallway to get back to the main room. Walk to the left until you come to a locked door in the structure in the middle of the room. Enter the door. Walk to the end of the path and then turn around to face the door that you came from. Pull out you hookshot and look up with it. You will see a hookshot circle on the side of a small platform. Aim near the top of the circle and shoot your hookshot to get on top of the platform. There is another Triforce square in front of you. Play Zelda’s Lullaby in front of it to raise the water level. Now climb onto the red block beside you and from it jump over to the surface with a door on it. Enter the door. You will be back in the main room. Equip your iron boots and jump in to the water. To your right is the doorway with the torches where you met Ruto. Go through the doorway and walk down the hallway to the room. Equip your Kokiri boots and float to the surface. Near you is a large crack in the wall. Place a bomb in front of it to blow a hole in the wall. Go through the hall and walk to the small chest. Open the chest to receive a small key. Now get back out to the main room by the way you came. Once in the main room, equip your Kokiri boots to float to the surface. Climb onto the path that is on the large structure in the middle of the room. Walk along the path all the way to the opposite side of the structure. You will see a locked door across from you with a hookshot circle above it. Hookshot over to the door. Enter the door. You will see a crystal in front of you and a pillar of water to your left. Go stand on top of the water pillar and shoot the crystal. This will make the water pillar rise. Ride up to the small room above you with the door in it. Quickly, jump of the water pillar before it recedes and walk to the door. Enter the door. You will come to a small ledge above the main room with a Triforce square on the wall. Play Zelda’s Lullaby in front of it to raise the water level. Jump into the water and equip your iron boots to sink to the floor. Walk to the right to the doorway with the torches. Go into the room where you met Ruto and lower the water level like you did previously. Now go back to the main room by the way you came. On the other side of the room is a large, pinkish-gray block. Push it into the wall as far as it will go. It will fall into hole that is filled with water. Equip your iron boots and jump into the hole. There is a path going to the right. Walk down the path until it ends. Equip your Kokiri boots to float through the hole in the ceiling. You will now be in a large room with a huge gap in the middle of it. To your left is a crystal. When you hit the crystal a pillar of water will rise out of the gap. You can jump across it to get to the other side of the gap. It is best to shoot the Tektite before you do this. Once on the other side of the room, you will see a door in front of you. Enter the door. On your left is a large pool of swirling water. Equip your iron boots and jump into the pool. Notice that there is a doorway with a grate over it about halfway up the wall. There is also a strange dragon with a crystal in it’s mouth on the left side of the grate. The rest of the dragon’s body is on the right side of the grate. Stand on top of the dragon’s body and use your hookshot to hit the crystal. This will cause the grate to open. Notice the hookshot circle inside of the doorway across from you. Quickly, hookshot onto the circle and run into the place where the Shell Blades are. Don’t even try to kill them, they will just kill you in your effort. Quickly, before the Shell Blades kill you, equip your Kokiri boots to float up out of the water. You will be in a small room with a crystal and a small chest in it. Open the chest to receive a small key. Now hit the crystal to make the grate that you came through open again. It is best to dive into the hole rather that equip the iron boots. Swim through the grate to get back to the swirling pool. Climb back out of the pool onto the small surface with the door. Exit the room by the door that you came from and make your way back to the pinkish-gray block. (When you get to the room with the crystal and the water column you can simply use your hookshot to get back across.) Once you are at the block, climb on top of it and look up to see a hookshot circle. That is how you get out of the hole. You will come back out to the main room. Walk to the right until you come to a door that is in the structure in the middle of the room. Enter the door. Hookshot onto the ledge as you did previously and raise the water level again. Now swim to the middle of the room and equip your iron boots to sink to the floor. There is a hole in the place where the red block used to be. Jump into the hole and follow the path in it until you come to a room with a crystal in it. Hit the crystal. A grate on in the ceiling will open and several Spikes and Shell Blades will fall out of the hole. Defeat all of them with your hookshot to cause another grate on the right side of the ceiling open. Equip your Kokiri boots to float through the hole that just opened. You will come to a small room with a small chest in it. Open the chest to receive another small key. Now exit the room by the hole that you came through. Walk through the hallway and get back to the room where you changed the water level previously. Float to the surface and climb onto the ledge that is in front of the door. Enter the door. You will be back in the main room. Walk around the path to the left until you see a door across the water with a red block in front of it. Jump across the water onto the block. Enter the door. You will be in the room with the crystal and water column again. Stand on the column and shoot the crystal with your bow. It is good to kill the Tektite before you do this, otherwise he will jump on your head and knock you down. After you ride up the column you will be in the small room with the door in it. Enter the door. You will once again be on the ledge above the main room. Play Zelda’s Lullaby in front of the Triforce symbol to raise the water level. Now jump over to the path on the structure in the middle of the room. Just to the left there is a locked door. Jump across the water onto the red block that is in front of the door. Enter the door. You will be in a large room with several platforms floating down a waterfall. Before you do anything else, shoot the Keese that are resting on either side of the doorway. If you don’t they will really annoy you. Now walk to the end of the path and jump down onto the red block that is just in front of you. There are hookshot circles on each of the platforms that are floating down the waterfall. Jump down onto the moving red block below you. From there, hookshot onto the moving platforms to get onto the other side of the room. Once on the other side, you will see a locked door in front of you. Enter the door. This room has three dragon heads and a red crystal in it. First of all, shoot the Tektites that are floating on the water below. Now shoot the crystal with either your hookshot or your bow. This will make the dragon heads rise. Notice the hoookshot circle circles on the dragons’ necks. Hookshot to the dragon nearest to you. Now shoot the crystal to make the dragons’ heads lower. Now stand across from the next dragon. There is a hookshot circle to the left of his head. Hookshot over to it. Now climb over the dragon’s head and stand across from the crystal. Shoot the crystal to raise the dragons again. Now hookshot onto the last dragon. Shoot the crystal once again. Climb on top of the dragon’s head and shoot the crystal from there. You will ride up on the dragon’s head to the doorway above. Walk through the doorway and defeat the Tektites. You will see a row of spines in front of you and a Like-Like behind them. Hookshot onto the Like-Like to get past the spines, if you used the hookshot circle the Like-Like would get you. Defeat the Like-Like while while it’s still frozen and walk to the door in front of you. Enter the door. You will come to a huge room that looks like a lake with a tree in the middle of it. Walk to the tree to find Dark Link. The best way to beat him is to hit him with your sword without z-targeting him. If you find that too difficult, then you could either use your hammer or Din’s fire. After you defeat him, a door on the other side of the room will open. Enter the door. You will see a large chest. Open it to receive the longshot. There is a blue block like the one in the Temple of Time behind the chest. Stand in front of the chest and play the Song of Time to get rid of the block. The block will disappear to reveal a large hole. Jump in the hole. There is a long river in front of you that is full of Vortexes. Swim down the river and avoid them as much as possible. It helps to walk along the bottom with your iron boots, but this isn’t always possible. Once you get near the end of the river, you will see a small platform to your left. Try to climb onto the platform. On the wall opposite the platform, there is a gold eye. Shoot the eye with your bow to open a nearby grate. When the grate opens, you will see a small chest inside it. Quickly, hookshot onto the chest to get past the grate before it closes. Open the chest to receive a small key. Walk down the path to your right until the path stops. You will be looking out on the swirling pool that you were at previously. Jump into the pool and get up on the ledge with the door on it. Enter the door. Now hookshot across the pit and make your way back to the main room. Once in the main room, put on your iron boots and jump into the water. On the other side of the room is the doorway with the torches on either side of it. Go through the doorway and walk down the path until you get to the room. Equip your Kokiri boots to float to the surface and lower the water level again. Now make your way back to the main room. Once in the main room, walk to the left until you come to the door with the red block in front of it. Enter the door. Hookshot onto the platform and raise the water level. Now go back to the main room by the door behind you. Walk down the path to the other side of the room. You will see a gold eye slightly under the water. Shoot the eye with your bow to make the grate above it open. Very quickly, hookshot onto the hookshot circle past the grate. Now walk down the path to your right until you meet up with the pinkish-gray block again. Pull it toward you as far as it will go. It will trap you in the hall, but don’t worry. Walk down the hall behind you until it stops. Look up to see a hole in the roof with a hookshot circle in it. Hookshot onto it to get out. Follow the path and you will come out onto a ledge above the main room. Find the eye with the grate above it and do the same thing as you did previously. When you meet up with the pinkish-gray block, push it forward as far as it will go. Now walk down the path to the right. You will come to a small room with a small chest in it. Open the chest to receive a small key. Walk across the hall and get out like you did before. Once in the main room, get onto the path on the structure in the middle of the room. Walk to the left until you see a red block with a door on it. Enter the door. Stand on the column of water and stand on the crystal as you did before. Ride up the water column until you get to the room with the door. Enter the door. Play Zelda’s Lullaby in front of the Triforce square to raise the water level. Equip your iron boots and jump into the water. Walk to the right until you come to a large pit in the floor. There is a doorway behind it. Go through the doorway and walk down the path in it until you come to a small room. Now look up and you will see a hookshot circle behind you. Hookshot onto it and then turn around. You will see a locked door with a hookshot circle above it. Hookshot onto the circle and walk to the door. Enter the door. You will be in a large room with a pool in the middle of it with a rock rolling in the pool. Before you do anything else, kill the Tektites that are floating on the surface of the pool. Now equip your iron boots and jump into the pool. Make your way to the other side of the pool and watch out for the rocks and vortex. Once you get to the other side, equip your Kokiri boots and climb out onto the ledge with the door on it. Enter the door. Walk to the edge of the surface that you are on and look down. You will see a pool full of Stingers. Shoot every one of them with your bow before you go on. Now jump down into the pool. Swim to the left and climb up onto the surface there. There is a suspicious looking wall at one end of the surface. Bomb it to reveal a big hole. Walk down the path in the hole until you see a large, brown block. Push the block down the path as far as it will go. Now get back out into the room by the path that you came from. On the other side of the room there is a crack in the wall. Bomb it to reveal another hole. You will see the large, brown block in the hole. Pull it out towards you as far as you can. Now go through the hole that you bombed on the other side of the room to get on the other side of the block. Once you get to it, push it all the way off of the path. It will land on a button that will raise the water level. Climb up into the doorway on the other side of the pool. Now climb up the steps to get to a door. Enter the door. In front of you is a button. To your left is a large gap with three columns of water in the bottom of it. Before you hit the button, shoot the Tektites that are hopping around on the other side of the gap. Step on the button to raise the columns of water and open the door on the other side of the room. When the water columns rise, jump on them to get to the other side of the room. Enter the door. You will be in a short hall with a stream flowing past the doorway. There are boulders that occasionally flow down the stream, so wait until after one passes by. Now equip your iron boots and jump into the stream. Walk to the right, against the flow of the stream, until you fall into a hole. Walk down the path to the left until it stops and you see a Shell Blade. Defeat the Shell Blade and stand at the end of the path. Equip your Kokiri boots and float to the surface. You will come to a small room with a locked door. Enter the door. You will now find the large, blue and gold chest. Open the chest to receive the boss key. Now exit through the door that you came from. When you get to the stream, swim down with the current to get back into the room where you first saw the boulders. Go back out through the door that you came into this room originally. Now make your way back to the main room. Once in the main room, get onto the path on the structure in the middle of the room. Now look behind you, you will see a dragon with a hookshot circle on it’s neck. Hookshot onto it to get over there. There is a door behind the dragon. (Before you enter the door, the pots on either side of it that contain fairies. You might need to catch them in bottles, for you will be confronting the boss soon.) Enter the door. You will see a hill in front of you and the boss door on top of it. You have to try to walk up the hill without letting the spiky squares hit you. This is harder than it seems. The best way is to walk against one side of the wall just after the spiky square hits it without stopping. After you get up the hill, you will be at the boss door. Enter the door. You will be in a room with a pool of strange water in it and several platforms in the pool. Jump onto the first platform on the right to meet Morpha.
